RACP Requirements

We encourage all BPTs to remain on top of their RACP requirements during this difficult time through the COVID-19 pandemic.

All previous training requirements remain in place for both BPTs and ATs at this stage

The RACP have previously encouraged all trainees to continue to meet their course and education requirements

Please refer to the RACP website for further developments and information around this topic

RACP fees are still due on the same schedule, with part payments due in May and October as per previous years

RACP training requirements and education requirements (mini-CX, etc) also remain on the same schedule

RACP is trialling written exams on two occasions throughout the calendar year - we will await further information about whether this will become a permanent fixture

"It remains the responsibility of each individual trainee to ensure their fees and training requirements remain up to date and on time"

COVID Impacts

As we hopefully become more familiar with temporary lockdowns and restrictions, there has finally been a renewed focus on Basic Physician Trainee education and career progression.

As discussed in previous posts, we anticipate that the RACP Written Examinations will continue as planned.

Unfortunately, the RACP clinical examinations continue to be at the mercy of local outbreaks with frequent postponements.

We can all acknowledge that this will have a tremendous impact on BPTs and ATs

BPT Well Being

These have been unprecedented and incredibly stressful times for BPTs, both at the forefront of treating a pandemic, but also with your own careers and lives on hold

No doubt that this will take an impact on the mental health of many trainees

We hope you can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, and wish you all the best of luck with ongoing study and examinations as training slowly returns to normal
